training methodology: |
The course is an adaptation of the first module of the widely recognized programme "The Art and Science of Coaching", conducted under supervision of Erickson College International. It employs an active, student-oriented approach, with specific focus on developing ability to conduct coaching conversations in both professional and personal context. Theoretical background is presented in form of short presentations that help understand the context and function of specific communication schemas and tools which are presented to the participants. The course emphasizes hands-on practice of the developed skills in numerous small group coaching exercises and practice sessions. Part of the training is conducted using action learning methodology, which supports transferring learning results to a specific, professional area related to participants' interests.

preparation and follow-up: |
The participants are requested to consider developmental needs of a specific target group from their professional context (for managers this will likely be a group of learns; for trainers, consultants and advisors - a group of educational managers). A specific issue or challenge encountered when working with this group will be used as material for an action learning session during the course.
After completing the course participants will be encouraged to implement and test solutions to the issue generated during the action learning session. A short written memo describing results of the implementation will be sent to other course participants, allowing the group to share successes and use them as inspiration.
Participants may choose to join "coaching triads" who will practice their coaching skills through weekly online calls. Members of a coaching triad take the role of client, coach and observer/evaluator to gain experience in conducting coaching conversations.
Participants who complete the course will be able to continue education in Poland as well as in several locations within and outside Europe. Those among them who are interested in obtaining professional coaching credentials are given opportunity to extend the course to a full five-module training, recognized by International Coach Federation as an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP).
